Moss, born 13th February 1977 is a former American football player. He was an
American footballer who played for 14 seasons within the National Football
League (NFL), including with the Minnesota Vikings and Oakland Raiders as well
as the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans. Moss is widely considered to
be Jerry Rice's most outstanding wide receiver. He holds the NFL single season
touchdown reception record of 23 in 2007, the NFL rookie single-season touchdown
reception record (17 in 1998), and is second on the NFL's all-time
regular-season touchdown receptions list, with 156. Moss is popular for his
ability secure contested catches. The term "mossed" which has now
entered the football vocabulary, became famous because of the fact that he was
a successful. Following football, he began working for ESPN as a studio analyst
for its Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown programs. Moss was born
at Rand, West Virginia. He attended DuPont High School. It was one of two
schools that eventually merged to form Riverside High School. There the student
excelled at basketball, football, baseball tracks, and many other sports. Randy
was also on the school's debate team. Moss was the captain of the DuPont
Panthers football team to two consecutive state championships in 1992, 1993.
His star position was wide receiver. But he also played free safety, punted
kickoffs, and was the team's punter as well as kicker. He received the Kennedy
Award for West Virginia Football Player of the Year in 1994. Parade magazine
named him to their annual All-American high school football team in 1995. in
2009, he was named among the 50 best high school football players ever.
