Abi Clarke

In the olden days, i.e. early 2020, comedians might have imagined spending the next few years touring across the UK as stand-up comedians, prior to getting invited to appear on a television panel show, and later selling the arena tour. It's not so easy. One form of art that can be performed live in the future is comedy, however there's no way to expect arena performances. One comedian from Bristol is able to reach a huge global audience through social media lockdown. Abi Clarke wasn't aiming to become an internet celebrity. Abi, who is 24, lives in Henbury and began posting videos online "to establish a community of like-minded people who could be interested in my standup comedy." "I was doing a lot more gigs in Devon to males aged 50 and over, and I began making online videos with the intention that I could build an audience of people who would be interested in my stand-up comedy," Abi said.
