Abigail Marie Clancy Bio

Abigail Marie Clancy (19 January 1986) was an English model of catwalk and lingerie, and television model and TV. She was the runner up on Britain's Next Top Model (cycle 2). In 2006, she also was the winner of series 11 on Strictly Come Dancing. Since 2015, she has been hosting Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy was born in Liverpool. She is the second-oldest child of four siblings: Karen (nee Sullivan), Geoffrey Thomas Clancy. She grew up in Woolton which is an area in Liverpool, and attended St Mary's Primary School and St Julie's Catholic High School. Clancy was a member of the girl group Genie Queen and was managed by Andy McCluskey, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. Clancy was one of thirteen finalists for Living TV's Britain’s Next Top Model's second season in 2006. The contest lasted for 10 weeks to win an opportunity to model. Clancy together alongside fellow contestant Lianna Foller, made it to the final runway show. Clancy eventually became the second place winner. Clancy became a model after being featured on Britain's Next Top Model. Clancy, who modeled the Triumph Bonneville Motorbike for Arena magazine's May 2007 cover was photographed by Clancy. Clancy was chosen to be featured in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated 2010. Clancy was featured for her sporting relationship with Peter Crouch and was photographed for the magazine wearing just body paint to appear like she was wearing an England shirt, photographed by Yu Tsai. Clancy, who wore an England shirt as part of Umbro's campaign for sportswear in 2010, was also featured alongside other wives of footballers or girlfriends from the nations which took home the World Cup. Clancy was a model in the Giles Deacon Ready-To-Wear line Giles Spring 2011 collection.In March 2011, Clancy appeared on the Elite Model Management: New York division's website. In July 2013, Clancy was a model in the campaign of London designer Hasan Hejazi. The campaign included an editorial styled by Absynth and a fashion documentary produced by Gabriel Gettman. Clancy was also featured on the August 2011 UK Esquire cover. Photographer Solve Sundsbo took Clancy's photo. In December 2013, Clancy was featured in LOVE magazine's Advent Calendar alongside Suki Waterhouse and Cara Delevingne. In July 2014, Clancy appeared on the cover of British Marie Claire and in March 2015, British Elle. Abbey Clancy, along with her daughter Sophia Crouch, collaborated in October 2019 with Lipsy, a London-based fashion brand, to launch their AW'19 collection. In January 2020, the AW'19 collection was officially launched in the UAE.
